The extraordinary presidential elections that took place in Azerbaijan on February 7 received a wide response around the world, and the results of these elections were generally stunning. Such a victory is rare. But this is not surprising for Azerbaijan. The presidential elections represent a Great Victory. Indeed, during the 44-day lightning Patriotic War, in a very short period of time, Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani Army, led by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Ilham Aliyev, won an unprecedented victory, which entailed the restoration of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
Today, many will agree with me that this victory was achieved not only thanks to military successes; a very strong, thoughtful and wise international policy was used to achieve it. Ilham Aliyev very wisely prevented the interference of external forces and cooperated with neighboring countries. This was also very important for the Victory and ensuring the territorial integrity of the country. All this shows that President Ilham Aliyev is a real political leader, the leader of his people. True leaders show themselves among the people, and in difficult times, and especially in war, and in times of peace, and in international arenas. No Soros, no external forces can or are capable of creating a real leader. Ilham Aliyev is a real leader who came from the people and represents the entire Azerbaijani people.
Stability in Azerbaijan is important for Türkiye. Because this is stability in Türkiye and the region as a whole. Only Ilham Aliyev and leaders like him can ensure peace and stability in the country and the region. And only Ilham Aliyev was able to ensure the territorial integrity of his country, and, of course, his initiative on the “3+3” platform is of great importance both for Türkiye and for the entire region. Considering that this platform was an initiative of Ilham Aliyev, it will play a very important role for regional integration and the establishment of final peace in the region.
The stunning victory of Ilham Aliyev in the elections is, of course, very important and represents a very positive result for Türkiye, and not only. The South Caucasus region needs strong leaders, since at the moment, after the liberation war of Azerbaijan, regional countries and actors are faced with new tasks – full integration of the region, establishing peace and security. And this can be the competence and will exclusively of leaders like Ilham Aliyev.
