Georgia and Armenia, which opened their doors to the West, received mass protests, clashes and chaos, United World International author Mehmet Perinçek has stated.
“What is happening today in two South Caucasian countries, Georgia and Armenia, which have opened their doors to the West? Mass protests, clashes, chaos,” Perinçek told Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
At the same time, the expert added, Azerbaijan “did not fall into the trap of the West.” According to him, this is the reason why Baku and Yerevan are close to signing a peace treaty today, no matter how much the West tries to prevent it.
“Almost all political analysts in the world are of the opinion that the US and the West have already lost their dominant roles around the world. The events around Israel and Palestine are a reflection of the very destructive policies of the unipolar world. We are witnessing the same policy in Ukraine today. The West is purposefully pandering to the regime in Kyiv and regularly arming that country. We are witnessing a similar situation in the South Caucasus. The West, through its lopsided policy, has lost the tools to interfere in the processes in this region as well. The countries of the region have already taken the initiative and created a 3+3 platform, thus leaving non-regional players offside,” Perinçek emphasized.
According to him, the region is currently witnessing progress on peace talks between Baku and Yerevan. “Naturally, the West does not like this. They are trying in every possible way to interfere in these processes so that chaos reigns in the region again. For this they need puppet political elites. We are currently witnessing this in Ukraine and Armenia. The West is trying in every possible way to preserve the instrument called ‘Armenia’ in order to promote its policy in the South Caucasus. Yerevan’s salvation is to join the 3+3 project and to improve relations with neighboring countries, in particular with Russia,” the interlocutor of the agency concluded.
