“The Best in Hell”

“The Best in Hell”

On 16 June at the Russian House in Ankara, the feature film “The Best in Hell” was premiered with Turkish dubbing.

Premiere in Ankara

The film is about the fighting that took place during the liberation of Soledar. The movie immerses viewers into the world of hard military everyday life of fighters from the Wagner PMC.

More than 100 people attended the event in Ankara. Before the film began, the head of the Russian House, Alexander Sotnichenko, spoke about the making of the film and the current situation in Ukraine. Among those present were Turkish political scientists, art critics, journalists, musicians, writers, scientists and retired military officers. All those present praised the film.

Synopsis of “The Best in Hell”

The creators of the film are the founder of Wagner PMC Evgeny Prigozhin and Wagner PMC employee Alexey Nagin, who died during combat operations in Ukraine. For almost two hours, we witness a thorough reconstruction of a single battle for the control of a nine-story building. Everything is filmed very realistically and is accompanied by commentary on the tactics of combat.

This is not only artistic (and at the same time in many ways a documentary), but also a kind of tutorial, showing how the best Russian assaults infantry – the PMC Wagner – is acting. In particular, according to former military, the film is strikingly realistic fighting and may well be used as a training manual. It is extremely realistic and demonstrates in detail the interaction of different branches of the armed forces in a modern full-scale war.

The idea behind the film

Another key feature of the film is that there is no cheap morality or propaganda, no desire to smear the enemy. On the contrary, the Russian film is made with respect for the opposite side. The Ukrainians in the film are just as human as the Russians, just as effective and courageous soldiers as the Wagner PMC fighters. Moreover, a number of episodes, such as the episode with the icon, the fact that these people speak the same language and belong to the same culture shows that we are talking about the same people.

The obvious conclusion of the film is that the current war in Ukraine is a civil war and a world war at the same time. On both sides are representatives of the same people, who recently lived in the same state, the USSR, and speak the same language. However, the conflict itself is a clash of two paradigms of the future world: an imperialist unipolar world led by the USA, using Ukrainians as cannon fodder, and a multipolar world, where great powers and civilization spaces are restoring their sovereignty. This is exactly what Russia is fighting for. The film “The Best in Hell” was made with an obvious message to Ukrainians – get on the right side of history. Eugene Prigozhin, whose formation the Western media seeks to disparage in every possible way, does not dehumanize the enemy, and that gives him an undeniable moral advantage.

And at the same time, it is worth repeating that the film is shot from a certain ethical distance. There are no right and wrong in it. There are only the relentless mechanics of war, blood and gore, but also valor, courage and honor.
