The United States “commands” Canada’s military

The United States “commands” Canada’s military

Back in September, Canada’s parliament honored an elderly Ukrainian man who had fought with Nazi Germany.Yaroslav Hunka, 98, was applauded in the House of Commons by lawmakers not aware of his history, during a visit by Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky. Later on, the speaker of Canada’s House of Commons apologized for the step.

Notwithstanding the apology, Canada pursues a very interventionist foreign policy side by side with the United States, being engaged politically and militarily in several overseas missions. We talked about the background of this policy with Claude Brunel, secretary of international relations of the Communist Party of Canada (Marxist-Leninist).

Can you explain to us Canada’s foreign policy? I notice that superficially Canada has first, so to speak, a very active or interventionist foreign policy, which participates in many military missions very far from Canada, which also presents itself very active diplomatically on issues that one would not consider to be of very great interest to the country.

You are right, the thing is that Canada’s policy is in accordance with the foreign policy of the United States. It is the Pentagon that commands the Canadian military. They can mobilize the Canadian Army without calling the Prime Minister of Canada. This seems incredible, buy you can verify it through the agreements between NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) and NATO. These agreements provide them that authority.

Now, Canada has this policy of alliance with the United States. And the country can go whether the US currently can’t be due to diplomatic reasons or given a certain interventionist history. Hence, Canada assumes that aggressive role.

For instance, the Canadian military has been training Ukrainian forces for 6 years. Even before the United States.

On the excuse of the country being expert on police work, they send Canadian forces to different countries to educate and format local and national security forces. But the methods Canada uses are those of the gringos, such as crowd control, ethnic profiling. Hence, for some years now, Canada has been serving as an arm of the imperialists – for instance in Haiti.

Canada’s interference in Haiti is terrible. Until there are people who stand in front of the Canadian Embassy and tell them, ‘Get out of here, we don’t do anything to you why are you here’?

Look, the Prime Minister of Canada, who was the Minister of International Relations, who is now Deputy Prime Minister, her grandfather had a newspaper in Ukraine during the Second World War that was a Nazi propagandist organ. Her grandfather was with the Nazis in Ukraine and had a Nazi newspaper. That is the reason why it is wrong when people say, oh, they made a mistake applauding a Nazi.

No, this is a trend in Canada. For example, during the last 10 years they established a monument to the victims of communism. Not one for the victims of Nazis.

On the contrary, Canada’s defense minister went to Ukraine and has a photo of him when they inaugurated a statue of a Nazi collaborator from the Second World War who they say was a nationalist for the independence of Ukraine. That is no coincidence. In Canada’s foreign policy is a tendency to go to reconstruct or reinvent the history by taking the Nazis and converting them in heroes, while painting the communists as donkeys.

And so this policy does not cause… One question, this thing lately in parliament and in general this policy, does not cause criticism within Canada?

Well, of course, the Canadian people is not supporting this government policy. For example, when that happened in parliament, imagine, all the Canadian people, in addition to the Russian community, who fought in the Second World War and lost their families, immediately took to the streets to demand that there be a portrait of the government that is not possible they took action afterwards saying, ‘oh we didn’t know’ and they blamed the leader of the parliament. But the leader of the parliament did not act alone, right, and all the deputies from all parties stood up to applaud.

These deputies have money, they have secretaries, they have people who do research for them, and they knew before that this person was going to be honored. No one did research to find out who this man is who appeared out of nowhere?

There are now many stories that Canada received thousands of Nazis at the end of the Second World War and that the Canadian government collaborated clandestinely to facilitate the entry of these people into Canada. Now, following this event, in Alberta, a university, had a foundation of this man, the scholarships have already been canceled because they do not want to be associated now, but how is it possible that they did not make a disgrace?

Two weeks ago, the Prime Minister of Canada accused the President of India of having organized the murder of a Sikh. How do you do that? No? Are you the head of state? Without evidence, without anything? How do you accuse another country? How can you act more arrogantly, than the US imperialists themselves?

I think they said they had knowledge through the five eyes, those five eyes. You know what those five eyes are, right?

It’s the international espionage that Canada, New Zealand and the other Anglo-Saxons manage. That’s part of the things that are happening currently. There is no respect for international standards. Canada follows the United States policy that says ‘we make the rules. And the rules are not in conformity with international law. They are for our interests’.

So it’s very different. That’s what it teaches you is that nothing works internationally. All the arrangements after the Second World War are now over. The UN cannot pass all the resolutions in the world, nothing is applied. Does that make the United States wage war all over the world? Do they invade all countries? What does Canada do? Nothing, because they say, ‘we are going to cross paths with our allies’. So, it is a policy of destruction of productive forces. That’s what they want to do. They do not control the forces of production, so they destroy them.

Which forces?

Human forces, forces… The workers, those who create production, those who make wealth. For example, all the problems they have, for example, with the Internet, they cannot control. They are trying to introduce law, introduce things so that they can control it. But that it is not possible. So what do they do? They try to destroy the place. Like in Canada now, you can’t see any news from Russia. You are blocked.

But they say they defend freedom of expression. They claim to be democracies. But they are not. So it is a world of transition. The Canadian foreign policy enters the defense of imperialism, its attempt to survive in this world of transition.

Different international efforts for a multipolar world appear. The BRICS, Russia, which is very active. The problem is: The old is not functioning, the new has not arrived yet.  It needs to be created.

And since we cannot create it on the same things that did not work. So that is the pile in which we are now, it is a world of transition, it is a world of transition, of chaos, but there is, for example, the thing about the new world order, we say that they are the people who are going to establish the new world order in their struggle, who do not want the domination of any imperialism.
